Tiana Kader (she/they), born in France in 1997, is a French-Malagasy visual artist based in Alexandria, Egypt since 2021. Their artistic work mainly focuses on memory and oblivion, idleness, and the absurd necessity of compulsory archiving - along with a work-in-progress about the relationship between the (women’s) bodies, the home and the traditional art space.

Their practice, centered around collections of drawings and poetic writing, is recently opening to more diverse settings - sculptures, installations and participatory experiences ; and their process is rooted in experimentation, iteration, mistake-making and building in general. They enjoy telling stories, often their own, with a raw and cynical sensibility.

They studied filmmaking then visual arts in university for 8 years between France, Canada, and Egypt. In 2022, Tiana graduated from the Université Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne with a Master’s degree in research and creation in contemporary arts and now works as an illustrator, art director and cultural practitioner.

Since 2019, they have presented their works in several group exhibitions, festivals, and public screenings in France and Egypt, and opened their first solo show early 2025.
